Forming (Completed Class)

Forming

Forming is a fresh, life-giving approach to spiritual growth and restoration that may be very different from what you have tried before. Instead of relying on your willpower and self-effort to bring about change in your life, we help you build a relationship with God that has enough substance to change you from the inside out. An entrance to the Life Model course series, Forming is for people who want to grow in their spiritual maturity by engaging at deeper levels with God.

In this 12-week class, you will learn to engage with God and live from your true heart through a video series and time for quieting, listening and journaling, instead of continually striving to go, go, go and do, do, do. To use a metaphor, instead of rowing against the current of our inner life, in an effort to do what we think is right, Forming teaches us how to align our sails with the Holy Spirit so that we engage with God to change the direction of our hearts so that we can go places we never could get to by rowing alone. In Forming, you will engage with Scripture, your past and present experiences, and your emotions in healthy ways to reveal truths you may not realize are there.

Christina Wood loves and is loved by Jesus. When she was five years old, she gave her heart to Him. That formational moment continues to resonate in her life. Following God’s direction, Christina completed a degree in Christian Education from Lincoln Christian University, Lincoln, Illinois. Upon graduation Christina married Jeremy. Twenty-seven years later, they are discovering the joys of parenting three young adult children. Christina and her husband, along with their daughter, reside in Woodbridge, VA. Over the years, Christina served in several ministry capacities both locally and nationally including women’s ministry lead, prayer ministry lead, youth Sunday School teacher, and Bible study writer and facilitator. Christina considers it a privilege to share the love of God with others, something she is doing with greater joy because of Healing Center International. Specifically, Immanuel prayer and being in a glad-to-be-together community are helping Christina mature in her faith. It is her hope to share with others the good things she is learning and experiencing through HCI and similar ministries. Oh, and although not as strong as her love for Jesus or her family, Christina greatly enjoys reading and adores being in the sunshine. On the best days, two or more of her loves combine!
