We are a relational, healing community of leaders who are seeking to become like Christ. For over 20 years, we have developed a distinct culture that is safe and nourishing. Through careful discernment and testing we have created and identified some of the best resources available today (including Facing Life’s Losses, Listening for Heaven’s Sake, The Life Model, HeartSync, and Immanuel Approach). We endeavor to train leaders to apply what they’re learning to their own lives, as well as minister to their own communities. For example, we attune to each other, understand that we are not there to fix each other, and are able to help each other encounter God to know him better, love him more, and become more like him. We receive healing and comfort from the Lord. We pay attention to grief and sorrow. We help each other recover from our relational maturity deficits. We practice spiritual exercises and healing prayer.

Leadership Development 2025

At HCI we are passionate about developing leaders who know Jesus intimately and who can demonstrate healthy relational skills so that others may experience life-giving community. One way we do this is though our Leadership Development (LD) groups.

Our 2025 LD group leaders will be Rev. Brian Smith and Cindy Browning.

The group will meet weekly for two hours via Zoom with each meeting including:

  • Briefly sharing our highs and lows with each other. We want to rejoice with you, and we also want to hear about your sorrows, places where you need our prayers and support.

  • Teachings on a relational or spiritual skills.

  • Time interacting with God in a divine encounter.

  • Sharing in groups of three.

You will also be taking these three courses, below, throughout the first year:

  1. 12-weeks on Forming by David Takle. You will learn to align your "boat" with the wind of the Holy Spirit rather than row against the current. Although other curriculums help you experience a two-way communication with God, Forming goes further. You will experience God healing your identity through joyful interactions as well as listen to his guidance in areas that need healing, such as self-loathing, fear, deception, and past traumas.

  2. 12-weeks on Listening for Heaven's Sake by Equipping Ministries. You will where participants learn the art of active listening, and creating a safe space for sharing and understanding without becoming anxious or overly involved. This foundational skill has become the standard for how we interact with each other, and has enhanced our community's connections and deepened our relationships. 

  3. 12-weeks on learning Immanuel Prayer Training. You will learn to develop life-changing positive memories and quiet your body so you can invite the Lord into those memories. From there you can enjoy interacting with him, seek guidance, receive healing and intercede for others. Overtime, experiencing God with you will rewire your brain to create a secure attachment to him.

Daily Connect

As Daily Connect, we connect with God and each other by engaging in spiritual practices including Shalom for My Body, The Examen, Lectio Divina, Immanuel Prayer, and intercessory prayer as a part of our daily rhythm.
