John has been in Northern Virginia for over 50 years. He graduated from WL Highschool in Arlington, did his undergraduate at Randolph Macon College in political science and went to graduate school at the University of Maryland obtaining an M.Ed. in Counseling. He was a coach and teacher in Fairfax County, teaching government, sociology, and economics at Herndon, West Springfield, and WT Woodson. He coached freshman football and founded and coached several crew teams in Northern VA.

John is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He is in private practice and has been a volenteer in the Prince William County jail, as a teacher and a counselor. He currently teaches classes in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
