Big Changes Coming to HCI
/On November 8 of this year, we hosted our 2025 Feast of Faithfulness Celebration and Fundraiser. If you missed it, you won’t know what is coming in just a few short weeks to HCI. Let me summarize:
1. 2025 was an amazing year at HCI as we grew in Christlikeness, introduced a new live retreat, learned more about attachment, and pioneered our first certification program in Spiritual Formation Coaching.
Here’s a graphic that lays it all out. It starts at the top with our free offerings at Level 1. This is a great place to direct friends who would benefit from a relationship with HCI. Daily Connect and Grief Support are both places where you can drop in as you like—at no charge. Then it and moves down through individual classes, then Leadership Development, and on to higher level skills.
Our dream is that all of us would find our purpose for life and fulfill our destiny to spread the kingdom of God to the whole world.
Where is your sphere of influence? What are you upset about? Passionate about? Where is God calling you to take what you have learned?
To lonely seniors? To confused kids in your neighborhood? To vulnerable immigrants? To unhealthy Christians?
2. 2025 was also a difficult year for HCI financially. A year where we had to lean heavily on donors who had already given so much. This did not feel good. Did you know that ten donors give 73% percent of the funds needed to keep HCI alive?
3. In October, the HCI staff brought in a consultant. Our big takeaway was that our donors were subsidizing the cost of our offerings. Non-donors were getting to take classes and participate in Leadership Development for prices far below the cost of the training they received.
4. Rather than lean on our top donors to bail us out, we needed to raise our prices. It only seems fair.
5. Here is some of the raw data just to give you an idea:
a. Daily Connect costs HCI $6,831.50 in 2025
b. Leadership Development cost HCI $23,948.59 in 2025
6. We compared our prices with those of other similar organizations and found we were changing much less.
7. As of January 1, 2026 we will be raising prices so that the people attending classes will be paying closer to what it costs us to run the training.
8. We hope to use donor money to continue offering Daily Connect and Grief Support for free as well as offer prayer sessions to those in need, and sponsorships to those who cannot afford to pay what it costs to offer these classes.
9. We also support work overseas:
a. Miriam and Antony in Kenya working with pastor’s and their wives in six nations in Africa and one in Asia (Sri Lanka).
b. An anonymous missionary in Europe and Asia who has translated several of Betsy’s workbooks into the local language.
c. A multigenerational family working in Pakistan.
10. We still need donations. We would love to see 100 new donors commit to giving $25.00 month. That would bring in an additional $17K per year and allow us to continue supporting Miriam and Antony. We invite you to partner with HCI and ask friends if they would give. Small amounts over time change cultures and lives.
